Iron Work

While walking home yesterday I snapped some dramatic looking photos of the beautiful ironwork gate surrounded the Cosmos Club in Dupont.
Aren't the finials really elegant? The ironwork is so fluid: a true art form!

So fancy and haunting! I love it! Like the old mansions in New Orleans. You find the best places on your walks!

Fantastic. The Cosmos Club has a great tour on their website. Check the iron work around the main entrance. Looks like one of those doorways I'm not worthy of entering ;^)

Stefan-If you've never been inside the Cosmos Club, I'll have to take you for a cocktail and tour sometime.

Thanks Paris & CdT, I love my walks -so much great stuff to see here in DC!

CT -it is a beautiful old mansion.

Terry, thanks for pointing out the tour! I hadn't seen that!

SR, I've never been inside -I would love to go for drinks!! I've posted about the exterior before as well, it's one of my favorite buildings in DC

Someone was telling me about an old book on the gates of Georgetown. Have you seen it? The Cosmos Club is a date-we'll set it up!
