Window shopping

Even during our current financial 'situation' we can still window shop! On my walk home tonight I took a few photos of interesting antique stores in Georgetown. Now, I don't know why after 2 years of passing them at least twice a day I've never stopped in! They rearrange their windows almost daily with the most beautiful things! Lets take a closer look, shall we?Look at the pretty plates, are these meissen I wonder? The silver soup tureen is wonderful! At first I thought this was a shopkeeper giving me a disapproving eye....no worries, he's for sale too ( just a bust)!
I love this unusual bottle holder, very elegant, but those glasses are so SMALL! I suppose it's for port or other apperatifs?. And another store...... This one always has beautiful silver displayed.I love how they put little name plates by each item so you can learn what they are!I hope you enjoyed the free shopping trip :-)

I agree with you. Window shopping is actually quite fun, and you soon learn that you really don't need all that conspicuous consumption!

I love that you wake up and see beauty all around you and then are so classy to share it ever so kindly to make me forget things not really worth talking about, anymore.

I love window shopping also, you don't always have to buy. You can stop and look.

It really is one of my favorite 'hobbies'! I think the main reason I've never gone into any of these stores is they have their best wares in the window without any temptation to buy! lol

I love looking in expensive stores for inspiration and then going to the flea market to find something in my price range! I'm also jealous that your city is starting to bloom. There is nothing here yet :-(

HC, ya, spring comes early to dc, but also leaves fast too, ugh. Same with fall (my favorite season). I like to do the same as you, find the same look for 'less' LOL - either on ebay or tag sales like you say :-) It's all about educating yourself!
