Winter cheer

The unseasonably warm weather has left us and winter has returned with a vengeance.  I picked up some cheerful colored roses to warm up my apartment this weekend and take the chill off.
I normally don't leave  roses long stemmed but something seemed right about this. Have you been doing anything to take away the winter blues?

Those roses are just perfect.

I am feeling terribly blue since I finally had to dump the Christmas tree yesterday. It was so beautiful this year after I found vintage beaded lights (well, more like light covers). It made me happy every time I turned the lights on... but I think I will be discovering needles for weeks (I kept it longer than usual because I loved it). Maybe flowers would take the edge off??? Love those big blowsy roses.

I love your roses. I just had to add some ugly weather seal tape to my bedroom windows. It's sooo cold. LOL.

I have difficulty becoming motivated this time of year. That's for certain.
Roses are an excellent idea! Walmart (of all places) has such a beautiful assortment! I will follow your lead and bring some life into this house!

Hi, Stefan,

I've been enjoying our winter weather (it's in the 40s even in Florida) because a dear friend gifted me with a light, but thermal blanket. Now I can sleep through the night cozily without my toes getting crushed by layers of heavy blankets!

But mark, nothing is cozier than a pile of warm heavy blankets! Must be a "northern" thing!

I am in the mood for roses too. I keep lots of project going and my electric foot of the bed warmer cranked up to banish the winter blues.

Flowers do cheer me up too. I love tulips too.
We have a fire and I stay busy keeping it stoked to thwart off the chill and always try to have something warm on the stove, a pot of soup, some chili or lentils.
Only a few weeks until Spring.
