I thought a weekend post would be perfect for a few of the little details I noticed on the 2nd floor loggia of Vizcaya. Remember, the hallway is open and surrounds the courtyard below and provides access to the numerous bedrooms of the estate. I loved this dinner bell right off the stair.
This chandelier in the shape of a dragon carrying the lightbulbs is just too cute not to photograph!
This is the hallway in question -whats that door at the end of the corridor beside
Mr. Deering's bedroom suite?
A private elevator, beautifully paneled and painted of course. Now thats riding in style!

Stefan, you've really spoiled and pampered us with
these Vizcaya posts! Details hitherto unknown to most
of us, and each one fascinating and inspiring. So
good of you.
I agree with the comment above, what a treat!
tsk, tsk! photos are not allowed inside the house! naughty, naughty!
Stefan thank you so much I adore that amazing doorknocker. So many interesting details.

The details are indeed fabulous.
It is interesting to see in the plan that Guest Room A is luxurious, but it is E that connects to Mr. Deering's suite via a shared loggia.
thanks everyone!
Ramsey -if you've been following my tour -you'll know i had special permission to photograph and post on vizcaya. You're right though, ordinarily photography is not permitted. Don't worry - I'm a good guy!
I'm so glad you explained that you had permission to take photos. I visited Vizcaya just last month. What a treat!
Now thats detail waiting to be discovered. I'm loving what I am seeing right now, such an eye candy for a interior enthusiast. I want a ride with style too, adorable elevator. :)
