Well,I guess I'm not all black thumbs - I got my paperwhites to bloom and they look ok. Why do they grow so tall and weedy though? they like to slump over sometimes too - i'm not a fan of that. But here they are in all their glory!

Here are my baked pears from the other week too -just so you can see mine are just as pretty as the photo I posted!

Congrats! I know- they get so tall I end up having to stake them, but that never looks very good.
Yes, I probably would stake them but I'm afraid it would be ugly. I saw on Martha how to make them out of heavy wire and they don't look as conspicuous, but I haven't bought wire yet and the paper whites seem to be at the end of their blooming cycle already!
Sometimes they get too leggy if they grow too fast. I just put a ribbon around them so they all follow the moon together...
I put a ribbon around them the last time I grew them but tried to do it au naturel this time. I think next year I'll try an amarylis!
