Shopping: And George
This weekend while in Charlottesville on the ICAA tour of UVA and Blue Ridge Farm I stopped at "And George" - a charming shop with loads of great furniture, household items, and gifts.I love shops which are arranged with beautiful things as far as the eye can see, like in a house rather than just on shelves.I loved the etagere in the foreground filled with candles and the console table along the back wall.As you can see the shop is full of perfect furniture, like this brass and wood coffee table.Every display in the store is picture perfect. Bellocq tea and William Yeoward crystal made up this vignette. This little desk area reminded me of Charlotte Moss's office. If you find yourself in the Charlottesville area (home to many attractions) be sure to stop in at And George, located at 3465 Ivy Road on Route 250. You just may find me the perfect gift -haha.

So fun, I used to be a regular reader of their blog! Looks like they have some very fun things. What a fun trip!
You had me at the signage!
It looks lovely. Thanks for sharing.
What a beautiful shop. I love C'ville! I need a weekend up there. Remind me of more field trips. I was too last minute to organize it.
Best,
Liz
So many wonderful finds in this special shop! Like Mark, the sign is wonderful!

If only NC had not embraced such regressive politics, I'd be tempted to go there, however I'll spend my money where my politics are supported. -
Everything's political!
I'm excited to check it out nest time I'm there. My fellow Apartment Therapy blogger, Cate West Zahl has mentioned it on AT, and I've been totally intrigued ever since. Your pictures are lovely! And yes, I totally agree about displaying on more than shelves. So inviting, and it has that allure of treasure hunt!
Its lovely, inside and out. Is the building a former stable? I'm sort of in love with the facade.
So jealous - i somehow missed this when we were in C'ville a couple of years ago and then saw a spread about them shortly thereafter!
very curious to know how it is going with your new apartment...do post something before long!
