RIP Elizabeth Taylor

"I call upon you to draw from the depths of your being — to prove that we are a human race, to prove that our love outweighs our need to hate, that our compassion is more compelling than our need to blame." Acceptance speech for the Jean Hersholt Humanitarian Award in 1993.Good bye to a one of a kind beauty and phenomenal actress.

A naturally beautiful woman - and a fine actress. Sad she is gone.

I get the chills thinking about that quote. What a stunning woman and the images you have posted show her strength and love for life.

Elizabeth Taylor was one of the great beauties of the 20th century and will be remembered as one of Hollywood's finest actresses. I was fortunate to have seen her in 1981 on Broadway in "The Little Foxes" for which she was nominated for a Tony award. A true star!

Nice tribute, she was certainly a great beauty and humanitarian

I remember seeing her as a little kid in a small role in 'Life with Father' - remember that movie? She plays a pretty teenager who is..um...a little exciteable in one small scene and a tad screechy. But 25years later I still remember her in that movie despite the smallness of the role. She had luminescence; a star quality.

Hear, hear! Probably the most important words she ever uttered. An amazing woman.

She did have a luminescence! Not just beauty but something more.

She had special glamour that the movie stars of her era had. Unfortunately they are all fading away....it is a great loss

wonderful actress---what could be lovelier than Taylor in 'Cat on a Hot Tin Roof'?

But more than that, her impact on the fight against AIDS, which was profound, assures her of a particularly good slot in heaven.

Amazing to think about. I've never known a world without Elizabeth Taylor.
