Many thanks to the Midwest Bonsai Society for choosing a photograph (with permission) from my post on the National Bonsai Museum back in April. It was so exciting for me to see this photograph in use! Who said blogging wasn't fun......
If you're in the Chicago area, stop by to see the 33rd annual exhibit at the Chicago Botanic Garden later this month, August 20-22nd.

Would love to go if I am in Chicago. I grew a couple of Bonsai trees when I was younger and I still find them just wonderful. But to me they always seemed somewhat difficult to "place" in a room for some reason. Until yesterday, walking along Madison avenue, I noticed some beautiful trees being used in the windows of Tom Ford's shop. They looked perfect.
I love bonsai but agree with you that they're a bit too precious for a lot of interiors. However, how fantastic are they in a greenhouse or a special display like you point out. I wish I were in NY to see tom ford's shop; i'm sure the windows are fantastic.
I'm losing many of my friends to post-graduation academic and occupational diaspora. A couple will be going to Chicago--I'll recommend the garden. Congratulations!
