A beautiful dormer

I noticed this grade school in Georgetown the other day and loved all of the little details. Check out that terra cotta dormer with the greek key details! click the image to open larger
I hope everyone has a fantastic weekend!

I love the idea of a dormer window, and also the look of it. It refers back in my mind to 16-18th century Northern European buildings, especially those that had workshops above the residences.

If Australian architecture requires light under the top ceiling, we add skylights. But they are flush with the roof surfaces and cannot be seen from the outside.

hellò, I sent you a comment in another post but I noticed that you edit only positive comments, only compliments. Isn't correct. By the moment that you will not edit this comment too, I have to say I think you aren't an architect because this blog is without composition. I can't look. All this black is really ugly.

I have been on vacation, hellochic -sorry for not publishing your comment.
as an architect -i believe in a simple organization. I think a black background is better to show off the pictures in my mind.
I think my diploma and business card would set your mind at ease as to my professsion.

I think actually a diploma doesn't mean nothing. I am happy
you have published all comments but black is heavy...

A masters degree probably means a lot more than anonymous comments. I like the black background and it's my blog. You can either not visit or offer constructive criticism which is always appreciated. I will no longer publish any comments that don't pertain to the post's content.

AD ~ Good eye! Like pve...I think the dormer is very Dutch in style. Though the shape of the roof is a bit odd. So interesting!!!
