In this month's issue of Vanity Fair magazine, the regular 'my stuff' column is from Michael Smith. I always love these little peaks into fascinating people's lives (probably why I read so many autobiographies) and especially into the life of our favorite designer!
Some of the highlights:
Outfit - Rolex or cartier with Levi's jeans and converse sneakers.
Scent - Santa Maria Novella Melograno
Hotel - In DC, the Hay-Adams of course, across the street from his most famous client!
Inspiration - friends, boyfriend, his dogs & Tina Fey ( I LOVE the Tina Fey reference!)

Oh, I agree, I love autobiographies, and peeking into the lives of others. Let me know if you want to loan me any of your books that are especially fascinating.
great piece with michael smith. LOVE. i wish i could do something like this for my blog.
karena - I use a lot of the blogs for recommendations and get them from my local library! I'm sure if your library doesn't have them available they could ship them from other libraries for free. I love my library!
Thomas -would love to see YOUR list on your blog :-)
I think it would be wonderful for all of us readers if our favorite bloggers would have a My Stuff post.
One of my least expected and most cherished part of reading blogs is getting book recommendations. I feel we are dinosaurs, we readers of books. And what I especially enjoy is the opportunity through blogs to read a cross section of ideas from people around the world and of all ages and stages of life. It is a big part of my "I may turn 60 in October, but my brain can be any age it wants to be." My husband is slightly jealous of my relationship with Mr. Amazon because he always delivers!
Hope New York was fun.
Per Cote de Texas, he's off the White House job. Lots of speculation as to why...
HBD - again you leave the best and most hilarious comments!!!! I would love to see your 'my stuff'!
Jeannine -I've heard that CdT was wrong -I hope so! I would want to see the magazine article with the Michael Smith white house!
I tend to only read biographies as well, and this is my favorite part of Vanity Fair acutally.
Stefan-You should do your picks!
Beth, my whole blog is 'my stuff'! haha
The My Stuff page in VF is my favorite! It's a great endoursement for products that I might not have tired before! I also love reading biographies. They are so inspiring! And I hear from someone who actually friends with Michael Smith that he is still working on the project and is about to install.
Michael Smith seems to have a great sense of style, sort of timeless, which doesn't date in a hurry. Thanks for the post.
Stefan, you know, I was told by someone who was hired by M.S. that he was fired. I was under the impression it was going to be announced. Apparently, it was never announced and I removed the post about it. I didn't say he was fired, I asked if anyone had heard that - and apparently it has been a rumor going around for about a month. Since I heard it directly from someone working on the job, I assumed it true. I suppose the lesson is never assume.
I just read this article last night!
xx,
Sam
Love this blog and love the postings! Thanks. I spied you through Jennifer's blog, the Peak Of Chic. ; )

Cote,
That is how rumors START when you put them out there.
I have to say that isn't very nice to say about MS at all.
Regardless to if he is doing it or not doing it, that is none of our business
