Have you ever been to colonial Williamsburg? It was funded and restored by John D. Rockefeller back in the 30s - creating many jobs during the great depression. It's a beautiful example of colonial towns in our country. I was there a few years ago -here are a few of my photos :-) Educational and in a beautiful part of the country. There are many cute B&B's in town: great for a weekend getaway!
That must have been fun for your kids, PVE! I remember going as a little boy and getting toy swords and tri-cornered hats -I loved it! Penny candy too from the general store!
I loved going to Williamsburg when I was a girl. These pictures brought back a lot of memories for me! I haven't been in years but would like to go again. -Julia

Beautiful architecture, and right up my alley, (and yours I suspect), with all that symmetry. Yum!
It's all a bit rough for me, but I like the basic design of it all, columnist :-) It's a really interesting historical site to visit!
We went a few years ago and loved it. You are correct about it being educational!
