Viva Las Vegas!!

Recently, I've been in a Vegas state of mine. Currently, friends of mine are in Vegas celebrating a momentous birthday and having a blast I'm sure. I love my friends but declined to go. Expensive to get there, stay there and it's so tacky with very few redeeming qualities that I can remember.

'the venetian'

I visited in 2003 and took these pictures: on the surface, it looks like it would be a great place! Can't travel the globe? Go to Vegas and check out the far east.......... or the Grand Canal, Venice!

How about take in the dessert views from atop a spinning restaurant straight out of the movies (we made the mistake and stayed in this hotel, oy)

Want to get married?
or take a quick romantic jaunt to parisor to Versailles!
or settle into a coastal village
hmmm -maybe Vegas isn't so bad after all.......

I am so glad that you did not go and posted more reasons why one should not go there. So viva las disney.

Ya, once was enough, PVE! One can only take so much architectural trickery!

Epcot with booze and gambling!
Nice photo collection!
It's only a few hours drive away and yet I have not seen any of this... maybe I need a little trip around the world in Viva Las Vegas!

It's worth checking out once, fifi - best done while drinking so you don't notice how fake it all is!

pathetic, isn't it? I must admit, the Bellagio transports me to a better place and I'm not ashamed to admit it. I don't drink, nor do I gamble (unless you consider ordering shoes online a form of gambling with luck) - so for me, Vegas is all about luxury, great pool areas and fabulous shopping. Bellagio and the Venetian fit that bill nicely.

I did enjoy those 2 hotels, franki. I don't gamble either, but did find plenty of activities to fill up 4 days there!

and let me also add... I despise going (LOL). We end up going once a year lately because my husband gives speeches at conferences.. and for some inane reason (lack of creativity) everyone plans conferences there. But I can't deny the Bellagio's hold on me. Amazing what a great pool area and faux-Italian luxury can do for a girl ;)

the only reason to go is for the pools. you can keep the rest :)

Hmm -thats not really much of a reason to go either, pools are everywhere! Plus all the fat mid-western tourists are here in the pools in too-small bathing suits *shudder*....

lol. thats funny. but don't we all have a little bit junk in our trunks?:)

Oh, I'm far from perfect -but some people are excessive -and lordy -i don't need to see that.

I hit the big world market center in LV once a year and I'll admit the Architecture on the strip is intriging to see, but I admit in the back of my head I know half of it is made of foam. That can kill the wonder of it all. BUT at the same time I have to commend the creative people who are given the task of recreating these wonders. I'd love that type of project. I think I may have some "set designer" in my blood.
