Cold as ice

This cold weather has me seeing ice everywhere. My favorite Thai restaurant in NYC, Room Service, has this enormous crystal chandlier (floor to ceiling) in a mirrored box as the focal point in the center of the restaurant.
My coffee table at home is no less frosty; Crystal, mirror and glass aren't doing much to warm up my apartment (but sure look pretty!).

FAB chandelier. Odd, isn't it, how this time of year we like light sparkle? Your arrangement on the coffee table is pretty darn nice. I'd probably spend hours looking at candlelight through those obelisks. I got out more candlesticks at the weekend. We always have a pair of rococo ones on Barcelona coffee table in our living room because - somehow the contrast between the two styles is quite lovely. Even when other lamps are on candlelight adds an atmosphere. We also have a crystal snowball votive we bought thirty years ago and every year it comes out of the cupboard.

The camera on my phone doesn't do it justice!
Blue, I too love that mix -everything goes with Mies!

I have those two obelisks! I use them as bookends on the lower shelf of a library table that is in front a western facing window. I put a large oval crystal bowl there as well as enjoy the light show all day. My crystal is more multifaceted than I am!

ps: Did you know we're having an eclipse of the moon this month? Should be around the solstice...and it will be during a full moon. Nature's own holiday decorations!

Yes, love the obelisks especially.

The obelisks are from restoration hardware -not sure if they're still available.

LOVE your obelisks! I prom-promise I wasn't copying your idea, although I guess great minds think alike. I'm going to add your pic and link you to my post if that's okay!

And, of course, on the liquid front, an ice cold, crystal clear martini in a thin sparkling stem glass is even better in the winter, too...

Very sparkley chandelier. I hope the food was a taste sensation as well.
Love your objects d'art. I have a small obsession with Obelisks myself. D.
