Heather and I are having so much fun! One thing I love is that the French support their own. By that I mean everything you see is made in France: glasses, hardware, furniture, etc. A lesson we Americans could strive towards!! So much to share when we are back!! Au revoir!

Yes that is one of the things that I love about the French - they support their own and if an item is not made in France it states that clearly, right down to fruit and veg at the supermarket.

glad you are having a fun trip...
paris is on my 'to go to' list...
You make a GREAT point! The US cannot remain a nation of abundance when more money is being sent out of the country than is coming in. We became wealthy through manufacturing, and that is slipping away every day.
I respectfully disagree with some of the previous comments. We live in a global marketplace where we should welcome products into our lives from different origins and cultures. Would American design be what it is without influence of elements from abroad that mirror the melting pot we live in? I am all for patriotism, but not if it means blocking out diversity. I would hope that manufacturing remains a strong American industry but that we focus on cutting edge manufacturing, not low-skill mass market so we can continue to evolve forward.
so true! "the french support their own."
