At the same store I also picked up this beautifull scented candle by Patch in NY (their website has the BEST music in the background). Named 'owl' it is scented of sandalwood, tobacco and vetiver and I can't wait for fall to light it!
I also stopped by John Derian's shop where I picked up a few things but this year I didn't take any pictures unfortunately. His shop is a MUST either in Provincetown or NYC! Have you done any summer shopping?
Not granny at all, it looks very 'Anthropologie chic' in fact! I loved the link back to your Paris post especially since I didn't get to visit Deyrolle on my too short trip to paris 3 weeks ago. Ah, the pretty macaron boxes I hand carried home...
ReplyDeleteI know you will find the perfect spot in your abode for your feathered new friend!
ReplyDeleteWish I had that candle, the way you described the scent...ahhhh!
I really haven't this summer Stefan. It has been so hectic. I am rearranging and editing my nest though!
ReplyDeleteI love the Ceramic bird in white it does not look "granny" at all and the candle must have a wonderful scent!

So let them think it "granny" and ignore them. It is beautiful!
ReplyDeleteOoh! My uncle carves birds (and very well), so they're a staple in my family. Definitely not granny, but homey for sure. You picked out a very nice one.
ReplyDeleteAnd I love owls! I have an owl shaped glass and gold cologne bottle from Egypt, and my friend bought me an owl teapot from Anthropologie that I use very often. People think I'm a little weird about how much owl memorabilia I have. In Rome, I bought a sketch/painting of an owl.
I also bought some nice clothes from Zara at the Piazza Colonna--a grey sport jacket, a black snap-up short-sleeve shirt and these incredible blue suede pointed sneakers.
It's been a summer of too much spending.
Not 'Granny' at all! I love it!
ReplyDeleteOh, I love the ceramic bird - I must have one! And the candle ... I really must check out the Yates & Kennedy website.
ReplyDeleteIf you like Deyrolle, you should visit The Evolution Store in Soho or check out their website. I've never been to the store, but I just purchased several things via their website and I'm absolutely thrilled with the quality and service.
Hmm, I would call it "Medusa." Actually though, it looks pretty cool, like you dipped a bird in cement (but I mean that in a nice way).
ReplyDeleteI could see why they could be called "granny" but you can correct them, and tell them its vintage ;) Very cute buys, I have bought a few accessories for my bedroom-frames, candles, super cute lamp. Thanks for sharing, cant wait to getaway and go shopping!
ReplyDeleteI have a penchant for birds and white statues~
ReplyDeleteSweet little finds to always welcome you home from your travels.

Welcome home, good to have you back!
ReplyDeleteThat bird is stunning. Vetiver..ah the scent of royalty. Great taste as always.
No shopping..too darn hot!
Some grannies have exquisite taste.
ReplyDeleteLove the bird - not granny at all to me!
ReplyDeleteI think the bird is beautiful. Do you ever watch Man Shops Globe on the Sundance Channel? Methinks you would like it.
ReplyDeleteThomas, I've never heard of it, I don't get the sundance channel though. Too bad; Maybe its on hulu?
ReplyDeleteI may be granny -but I own it! Granny chic! LOL
Sandra, Vetiver -my favorite scent (or one of them anyway!).
ReplyDeleteThat candle!!! And, I always have the John Derian store on my hit list when I head to the city but, I have yet to make it. Must, must do...XXOO
ReplyDeleteI also shopped Yates & Kennedy while in Ptown, and purchased a resin, wall mount, raven on a branch.
ReplyDeleteI have purchased perfect, taxidermy peacocks, in Ptown too!
I'll email you some photos, when I manage to remember to take some.
