Beaches

I'm off on a jet plane to somewhere cool and wet for a much needed break. I'll leave you with some of my pictures of the beaches in California I saw last month - aren't they breathtaking? The above photos are from route 1 through the Big Sur, a trip I would recommend to anyone. Remember to rent a convertible, it's worth it! Just DRIVE SLOWLY!
Above and below are Carmel Bay -with Pebble beach seen above across the water. The Pacific might be too cold to really swim, but it's certainly beautiful.
I've gone through one of the toughest months imaginable but I suppose thats all part of growing up. I'll hopefully be back in a week renewed, restored and ready to get back to blogging regularly! Have a great week!

  1. Stefan this is some of the most beautiful coastine in the entire world. The 17 mile drive is amazing. Enjoy some relaxation...much needed.

  2. Absolutely gorgeous -thanks for sharing! I must admit though that I was expecting a post on the 1988 movie Beaches. Well, these photos are almost as pretty as Bette Midler. Have a GREAT trip! I'll be sweltering here when you return.

  3. Stefan, you bring back memories of a trip we made for one of my big birthdays - we first visited with an old friend from Amsterdam in Long Beach and then drove up Highway One over a couple of days to LA and then over the bridge for dinner at Chez Panisse (my birthday surprise). Big Sur is the most stunning place to drive with unimaginable horizons.

    Enjoy your break, feel better.

  5. are you coming to Seattle? It's cold and rainy here this weekend...just what you need!

The northern California coast is so beautiful...Big Sur is breathtaking. I've always been enamored with Pfeiffer Beach and Carmel, magical, glorious places.

May you have a refreshing and relaxing time away...xo J~

  6. The images alone make me feel ready to travel there and drive a convertible and sport an hermes head scarf and some sort of chic ensemble...
Now come back rested and your old efferfescent self.

  9. OK, now when are you going to tell us where/what you ate on this trip? I consider SF/Napa to be the land of the goddess of agriculture. What were the heavenly things you chose to eat?
