weekly roundup

Welcome to another weekend! I know I'll be enjoying my new iphone (trying to make it work -no phone reception in my apartment, any helpful hints anyone?)
Also, I've found a new summer drink in St. Germain Elderflower liqueur. Not just a beautiful bottle but the most light and refreshingly sweet drink, perfect for summer! I can't get enough!
Also, I want to thank Little Augury for her interview on my summer book choices HERE! She is running a series of blogposts this summer with selections from a number of bloggers. Make sure to stay tuned!
Top photo taken last week at Sugarleaf Vineyards while in Virginia - great winery, especially their white and dessert wines.

  1. If you like the taste of elderflower try IKEA's elderflower cordial.

  4. Ditch the phone and invest on a courier pigeon.

  5. I will have to try Sugarleaf, or at least a few of the Virginia vineyards. I had no idea there were vineyards there. My partner and I are coming to DC in September for 3 days and then touring around Virginia for a week (he is a civil war junkie - I just want to eat and shop!). I have not read your blog more than a few times - you live in DC area I assume?! Any suggestions for good decor shops to visit? I won't have a ton of decor time as we did a Paris trip last fall and I shopped a lot. This time it is my partner's turn to do what he wants (which won't include waiting outside stores...). But I will have to hit a few!!!

Take care and I will be back to read you more often...

P.S. I am hoping to meet Ms Notting Hill when I am in DC. I love this blog world!!

  6. i did the stupidest thing in the world. two weeks ago i took my still working but cracked ipod in to buy a new one, which they charged me plenty for because it was still new? and didn't tell me a new version was coming out in a few weeks. when i found out i felt like such an idiot. i'm really stuck with it now but my daughter said she might be able to sell it. you're lucky to have gotten a new one.

  9. I would like that adorable little Asian girl (three years old I think) who does the commercial for HP to come home with me and teach me all the latest tech tips. And am I impressed that you read your books based on purchase date! That is having some book spine! Good luck with the phone.

  11. How did we make it through past summers without St. Germain? I'm in love with it too. How do you drink yours?

  12. So I've heard that I need a 'signal booster' which I've already ordered and hopefully does the trick! If not I'll probably keep the iphone and get a landline (Something vintage from ebay probably?).
HBD, I think it's the organized architect in me, I use all products in the order I buy them, shampoo, soap, etc. -not breaking into a new one till the 1st one is used! I just hate having 10 half used (or read) things sitting around!

  14. Victoria -let me know what you find out about the zoom -i really need it! I was a bit disappointed with the camera, I think I expected to much really, but it's good enough for everyday pictures -just not 'special' ones.
