bathroom

What do we think of this bathroom in Jeff Andrew's house? It's a bit unusual for someone to have a urinal in their master bath, right? But I guess if only a man is using it, it could save a lot of money in water and cleaning, etc. -I love the practicality of it! However, the placement of the sink between the urinal and the toilet is a bit...unfortunate! I love the white fixtures and chocolate brown tiles -yummy! What do you all think? Comments?

  1. Is a urinal actually any more usual a feature than a bidet? I'm curious why urinals, for one, are considered fit only for public restrooms? It's a handsome room, interesting tile, a bit institutional but in a Dutch-modernist kind of way, so, yes, I approve.

  2. I agree, aAL, it seems surprising to me that we don't see more of this!

  3. When we installed a bidet in the master bath of our country house, we were the talk of the county, thanks to our gossipy contractor, who found its presence most unusual, even suspect. So I am fairly certain that we must possess the only bidet for hundreds of miles.

  4. Really, aal? That seems strange to me - installing bidets is pretty common in our office. I'd say about 1/3 of our projects include them in the master bathroom. Then again, I don't know where your country house is! haha

  5. We are very, very rural ... our long and winding road was only paved recently ... before that it had been merely dirt with some gravel thrown on as apparent afterthought ...

  7. All that rich chocolate tile and the white fixtures and the white grout- makes for a bold bathroom! I would love a urinal here for my sons.

  9. Hmmm? Its not the urinal I object to ... but I would rather have had it installed in a proper closet much like all of the toilet and bidet combos I do. Just my two cents

  10. Yes, DF, I think it's odd to have your sink nestled in between a toilet and a urinal - ewwwww
