Apartment for sale

I apologize for the lack of posts lately but as those of you who are my friends on facebook know, I have decided to take advantage of the spring traffic and list my apartment for sale.It was a difficult decision but it's time in my life to leave downtown (not DC). I've been going through the 'staging' process (aka ripping every ounce of personality from the space) and it has prooved itself to be a lot of work! Wish me luck and I hope to have news for you all very soon!

  2. How exciting for you to decide to make a move. I was once told that the three most stressful things are giving birth, moving and death. I found moving to be a time to cleanse and to part with things....it can prove to be very transformative.
I will contact my friend Matthew to see if he might know of anyone interested - he lives in Washington.

  4. Good luck....getting ready to move is a very difficult thing, but it can also be a great time of purging. I was hoping you would post photos of your apartment as a marketing scheme, on your blog.

  9. Good luck - it's a great space. Huge bathroom too if I'm remembering correctly. I hope you don't rip out too much personality in preparation for selling it. Whne my friend sold her place she staged it with upscale items (soaps, wines, even toothpaste) and put out travel and art books and magazines that sent a subtle message of affuence.

  10. Good luck to you, Stefan! As an Army brat, I've moved many times in my life, and I've always looked upon it as an adventure, a new beginning, and the door to all sorts of new possibilities. I wish that for you.

  11. Your definition of staging as "ripping every ounce of personality from the space" shows the difficulty of dismantling your home, but it probably thereafter make the separation easier--essentially, you already said your good-bye.

I hope your future home will be a happy one for you.

  15. After a decade in the heart of Dupont and Logan, I was worried about moving up to Chevy Chase, DC. But I love it up here. Nothing but birds chirping and kids playing. Where are you headed?

  17. Ripping every ounce of personality from the space is more than hard work; it is actually soul destroying. Even if you are happy to be moving, noone wants to see their past pulled apart.

Happy holidays. I hope it all goes easily.

  18. But your personality is good personality---it's not as if you collect ceramic frogs....

  19. Looking forward the good news and the next thing. Best wishes from your Atlanta fans. "Ripping every ounce of personality from the space" is so right. It's why doing Sunday open houses and Tuesday caravans isn't fun. It's like arriving right after the funeral.

  20. So exciting! Deep down I always hoped that "staging" was only necessary for people with bad taste but I guess that is not really the case...

  23. Good luck to you! that's so exciting. I'm sure you will be so excited to find a new place to decorate.

we went to seaside and i swear our house overlooked that last tower picture. the house was like a temple. it was amazing. a greek temple. i loved it there and am so jealous of those who get to live there all year long. how cool that would be!
