Why not record your house for posterity in a memorable way like Baron Kuner did in 1760 of Memmingen, his country estate in Kunersberg -paint it on a platter. Of course, he owned his own faience pottery factory which helped! Have you done anything to record your estate?
Plateau now in the collection of the Metropolitan Museum of Art
Wonderful. I love it. I do have a wonderful rendering by "Schematic Life" and now will need a new one with the after addition. I do love the charm of this platter.

I always think it wise to recall it in some form or another. My mother once did our rabling 19th century farmhouse in crosstitch. It turned out beautifully
ReplyDeleteI have sometimes made a sketch that featured some part of my house for my Christmas card. But a set of plates would be lots of fun!
ReplyDeletewow, what an estate! my house would actually fit perfectly on that tea cup you gifted me! hah!!!
ReplyDeletei can't imagine how gorgeous this must be in person. unreal.
If I had an estate like that to commemorate, you can be sure I'd have its portrait painted. But I don't, so for the last thirty years, I've been painting my own rooms instead. Everybody should do this. Here's my living room as it was 25 years ago.

That is a very cool idea! Certainly does put a whole new spin on the saying "drinks on the house!"
ReplyDeleteVery interesting Stefan!! I love Patricia's renderings of homes and this is a really unique idea!
