They have purple trees

Another fantastic doorway from West Hollywood near the Beverly Hills one I talked about earlier. This gave access to an entrance courtyard which just seems to me the height of Southern Californian living.

The other highlight of the area are the Jacaranda trees which fill the streets with a lovely scent and the most beautiful purple flowers you have ever seen! The cherry blossoms of the west coast perhaps?

  3. I love the courtyard doors, but wish the interface with the wall was a little better. Stunning, none the less. What is the scent of the flowering trees?

    The security word: faboo

    I agree.

  4. Classicist, the relationship was better in person but not perfect. Old doors -new wall perhaps? The scent was light but a heavy pungent floral - maybe like peony somewhat?

  6. I absolutely adore jacaranda trees which are quite prolific back home in Australia! When they are in bloom en masse the effect is stunning!

  8. jacarandas are my favorite- even with the hellacious sticky mess they make, and while i love a courtyard aesthetically, something about how they isolate homes from interacting with their neighborhood is a bit unsettling to me. i *like* community, not living behind walls.
