As Heather mentioned
HERE in her post on
Century Furniture, their showroom at
High Point really had the best tabletop displays which rivaled a magazine spread. I loved this tablescape which featured antique books on an beautiful wood table alongside a terranium and a dome filled with even more books topped off by a bird's next. Nature, spring and books -what could be better? Have a great weekend and here's to bringing nature inside!
I like the picture, but I have a hard time hearing the word "tablescape" without thinking of Sandra Lee's dreadful semi-homemade show.
ReplyDeleteThis is lovely with the warm tones of wood and books. It gives the interior a feeling that life is lived in the space and interests are pursued....an atmosphere all too often absent in many homes.
ReplyDeleteHave a wonderful weekend, Stefan! I hope spring has arrived in all its D.C. glory!
Stefan, Dovecote Decor has some great images from Hickory Chair!
ReplyDeleteTerrariums are back big time as well!

I always love these creative vignettes - they really make the space!!
ReplyDeleteNapoleon the puggle is way ahead of us on the topic of bringing nature inside! I will try to get photos next time! His paws aren't so cute when covered in mud, though!
ReplyDeleteNothing beats a little touch of live greenery in an interesting container, does it?
ReplyDeleteTerrariums sure have come a long way from the homemade variety populat in the '70s. I have been waiting to plant a series of glass containers with grass on my kitchen table. I think the combo of mellowed wood and bright, fresh green is marvelous.
ReplyDeleteThis is especially creative and natural at the same time. As I think to myself can I use my oversized flour jar to grow plants as shown.
ReplyDeleteI would love a trip to Highpoint. Thos are great, gosh I have all kinds of moss and bird nests, wonder if they have lice?
ReplyDeletegreat photo!!
ReplyDeleteGreat post :) they really make the space!!

ReplyDeleteStefan, the last time I had a terrarium I was 7 but you're inspiring me to do a grown up version :)
