Fall is here, my favorite season! One of the reasons I love it is the gorgeous light, especially the sunsets. I took this picture last weekend at the Old Yellow Mansion, remember it, on Meridian Hill Park? Hope you all have a great weekend!
We have had picture perfect weather here in Atlanta over the past week - there are always a few weeks in fall when it is neither too hot, too cold, or too humid - and this is it! Next week is supposed to be gorgeous too.
I love the fall light too - both in the morning and the evening.
I like how the lower sun lights the indoors. The shines further into houses. Interiors are dappled with reddish light shining through gaps where leaves have fallen.
I love the light in the Fall season too. We usually experience the most stupendous sunsets here in Santa Barbara at this time of year. Alas, again, this week with the terrible soupy coastal fog. Day after day...At least this morning we have rain, something we can use and also a little audio interest to break up the crashing bore of the grey. hmmm...hopefully I'll be in a little better mood after yoga!
I had to smile when I saw your post this morning. I just blogged/whined about daylight savings time not starting until Nov. 7th. There's also a pic from the party.
I couldn't agree more, fall sunsets are spectacular. Of course I think our Canadian sunsets are the most beautiful; especially when enjoyed with a six year old Canadian cheddar, and Californian Cabernet.
my sentiments exactly. and such a lovely photo. i was walking along a cobblestone street the other day, late afternoon, as i marveled at the glorious golden light illuminating those historic charleston buildings. another reason i love autumn- the light and the crisp air. (how i missed it during my 12 years' self-imposed exile in the tropics!)

ReplyDeleteI just wrote about how much I love fall light, too! I took a picture as I was driving down a country road that just typified the light for me.
ReplyDeleteStefan, I also did a post on the quality of the light at this time of year. It seems to have a golden glow in these shorter days.

Even here in CA the colors change. I love the light in the Fall. Always on the lookout for the perfect color in the shadows too.
