For a side door at Filoli which is rarely used, I loved this idea of lining the staircase with overflowing terracotta containers. Maybe this is an idea for our own houses to bring some life to abandoned entries? I hope everyone is enjoying their weekend in this gorgeous weather and have a great 4th of July!
I can hardly contain myself at our local nursery. I will share some of our containers.

I just read your posts on Filoli gardens and house, how glorious!! spectacular gardens. Every chance i have, I visit gardens nad these are spectacular....It males it difficult to go and work on my own garden ...
ReplyDeleteIt is pretty! And we have some of that at Linderhof! I remember in one of Carolyne Roehm's books she did that at her house with pansies -- stunning!
ReplyDeleteAnd affordable to the pocketbook of anyone! So many ideas you have to have lots of $$$$ to make it happen -- this you don't!
IMMENSELY important those pots FLAIR.
ReplyDeleteEntering, using wider-to-narrower, creates greater depth to doorways.
Choosing a consistent pot style/color, most often, creates the best display.
