Recently in Georgetown I spotted this elegant entry. I love the stone stair and curved railing with integrated lamp posts. I might paint the door a brighter contrasting color, but this is conservative Georgetown afterall!

I hope everyone has a great weekend. Remember, design is in the details!
I do love the American Flag flying. That red door pops, but I agree, a brighter color, perhaps a "robin's egg blue" or a "cobalt blue" for Spring would be pretty,
ReplyDeleteLove those planters too!

I love an entry that really makes you want to go inside...creates a sense of anticipation.
ReplyDeleteVery nice, grand yet humane. To me the purpose is to make the people who use the entrance feel important.
ReplyDeleteUnderstated but swell. I, too, would punch up the drama on that door. Maybe a brilliant, glossy green/black or a prussian blue?
ReplyDeleteI'm jealous of the sunshine in DC! Chicago is a snowglobe again today.
Very nice, I love iron railings they are exquisite, Stefan.

I love the fact that there are steps on both sides. It has a stage-like quality to it. I imagine GW coming out to give a speech to troops...
ReplyDeleteThe wrought iron railings in Georgetown and Old Town Alexandria are a vision and each unique. I always carry the digital when wondering there to snap a few pics as reminders.
ReplyDeleteInteresting piece with that USA flag.
