Going through my photos from Paris tonight, I was trying to organize them to make a printed album when I realized: they're all my favorites, they're all beautiful! I was wondering where I would spend my next birthday and now I've decided: Paris here I come! There is so much
Heather and I didn't get to see last month and I just can't go another year. Heather, you're forewarned: Start saving now!
Paris is addictive. I lived there for a year as a grad student and returned 2 or 3 times after, but when we went back last Fall for 2 weeks, we were hooked. This fall, I had to convince David to go somewhere else as he wanted to go back to Paris again! Me too. So we decided we will do Paris every 2 or 3 years and make a habit out of it. Isn't that splendid?! I love the idea of not having the pressure to plan a big trip, to just return to a place you love, which in itself is a journey of discovery everytime. Next time, the Orangery is on my list!
ReplyDeleteAhh..Paris. Some year, we are also thinking of doing Christmas there. Wouldn't that be amazing??!
Hope you are well. Terri xo
I can't think of a better gift to give yourself
ReplyDeleteHey Stefan -- I ran into Heather at High Point, where we sat together at this elegant dinner thrown by Baker Furniture. She's awesome! She was telling me all about your trip to Paris, and I'm jealous! Hope to see you soon at another blogger get-together. -- Jennifer
ReplyDeleteTerri, thats a great idea, I think thats probably what I'll end up doing!!
ReplyDeleteDavid, neither can I!
Jennifer, I heard from heather that you two had met: I'm so glad to hear you had a good time getting to know one another! See you very soon!
Oh just so jealous!!! it will be years before I get to go back... so keep taking these pics!! ;) ;)

ReplyDeleteWould this coming Bday be the big 30? Or just another year on the growth chart? I passed the big 60 last week. No Paris, but I am getting something really nifty for my garden. Paris agrees with you. So nice to find resonance of the heart with a place on the map.
ReplyDeleteGreat idea! Paris should be a season.... is always on my mind when it comes to travelling plans!
ReplyDeleteHope you birthday is soon!
I am going to Berlin next month, will bring back many photos too....
Love ~Victoria

Hey Stefan!
ReplyDeleteThat would be one birthday you will never forget. I am waiting for our adopted son's passport so that I can plan for a long overdue visit to Europe. Our original agreement was to Switzerland since we've never visited. However, your recent trip has thrown a monkey wrench on those plans so we're back to square one...undecided..LOL.
Good for you! The more Paris the better.
ReplyDeletei went for several years on my birthday.
ReplyDeletego.
you won't regret it!
xx
I have awhile to plan - 30th birthday on June 8th :-)
ReplyDeleteStefan-
ReplyDeleteYou can't go wrong with a gift like that! I may have to think of that as well.
