The Queen as mum

I came across these photos on Bunny Tomerlin's blog. I love how they show the Queen as a normal mom with Prince Charles. Look at that huge smile on her face! Isn't it funny how Charles looks exactly the same now (without the baby fat!) - plus he's still as surly and dour-looking as a child!
Enjoy your weekend!

you do know that she and her husband left on a grand tour after she was Queen - for months- and left Charles who was a baby at home. When they wanted Diana to do the same and go to Australia right after William was born, she refused unless they allowed William to go with her. They finally relented. Good for her!!!

Black and white photos are treasures - even for a Prince.

Wow, I didn't know that -no wonder why charles seems so cranky!

Here's what I'm really loving: the Queen's outfit. WOW! So classy. I seriously was born in the wrong era.

I got the most amazing book at BT. It's called Dinner at the Palace and was written by a man in service to the family who started when Victoria was queen and worked through the early QEII years. He collected menu cards, took pictures of the family and wrote about he palace kitchens. I'll review it when i am finished.

What do you think the wire mesh on the out side of the building is for? Ivy? or electric fence?

Derek, the wire mesh looks like it's meant for vines or ivy to me.

Oh gee, I really love the Queen. But, who's that trying to climb out the window?

I have no idea, PT&E! lol - one of his friends? It looks like a kid or 'little person'

Queen Elizabeth was quite beautiful in her youth.

Kathleen, I know! She looks like a normal young mother -not like a 'queen' at all!
